Lochmoor is for Lovers

As many as fifty ships sail in and out of this port city daily, earning Lochmoor the nickname, Ever Changing City.  Along with seafaring, the crusading business is a mainstay of the economy of this prosperous city. The hundred thousand strong population is roughly half human, twenty-five percent half-elf, twelve percent elf, eight percent dwarf, with the remaining five percent comprised of gnome, sprite, and mixed races. To learn more about Lochmoor, read Enchanted Season and Enchanted Harmony, both set in the Ever Changing City. If you're planning a trip to Lochmoor, we've offered a few suggestions below to help you make the most of your visit.

Where to Stay

The Sable Diamond. (Most exclusive) Some maintain it has a pretentious atmosphere but you can expect the things usually associated with pretention—great food, plush decor, and impeccable service. What you can't expect is to be allowed to stay here. If they don't like your looks, you won't get in.

The Royal Thistle. (Most ethnic)  Stay here only if you are an elf or looking for a true elven experience. They serve vegetarian fare but the wine is impeccable. Rooms are lavish but the beds and bathtubs tend to be a bit small.

The Flying Dragon. (Best choice)  For a true taste of the rich culture of this city, choose this time tested establishment. It's clean and moderately priced with good food and entertainment. You might even get a little slice of excitement since it is a favorite for crusaders looking for work. It's said that the fate of many monsters has been sealed over a beer at the Flying Dragon. If you're lucky, world renowned bard, Farron Tain might drop by with his lute.

Where to Eat

The Stew Pot. If he isn't off with his crusading company slaying monsters, famous Lochmoorean Tylden Caldaron comes here every Tuesday for the Fish Chowder.

The Sweet Spot.  For the best dessert anywhere, stop in for a taste. Everything is good but try the raspberry cream cake. Available for private parties.

Where to Shop

Toys by Elves. Exquisite handmade playthings for children of all races. There are hard to find items like dwarven dolls and balls that will fit small gnomish hands.

Jewel Box.  Gnome crafted jewelry from the classic to the unique. Custom designer on the premises.

General Merchandise. Socks, swords, boots, furniture, books, baskets, candy—you may not buy anything but you can pass an entire day.

What to See

The Open Air Market.  Seafaring merchants pedal their wares here. On any given day you might find livestock, crystal balls, and gypsy caravans. Fortune tellers, puppeteers, and minstrels make for a carnival atmosphere.

The Temple District:  No where is there a better representation of polytheistic society. Regardless of your faith, you will enjoy seeing the temples and shires set in these serene surroundings. On Thursdays, many of the temples are open for tours. Dates vary, but if you find yourself in town during the Temple of Frey's annual Spring Faire, you won't want to miss it.

Druid Grove.  Located two miles outside of town, this oak and ash grove is a private residence but is well worth a look from the outside.

Who you might recognize around town

Members of the powerful crusading company, The Traveling Companions:  Farron Tain, Tylden Caldaron, Sylvana Allvar, Louden Asher, Lucia Scout, and Thorburn Axecrusher. It's said they are friendly and approachable but don't try to engage Farron Tain's wife or children. They never leave their grounds without guards and if the townspeople even know the names of the little Tains, they aren't talking.

Enchanted Season

A LITTLE SORCERY…

Elves usually marry for love, but renowned sorcerer Tylden Caldaron isn’t worried. He likes women. All women. There’s no reason why he can’t like this one. Besides, he’s tired of being alone, and he needs a magical amulet from Dariana’s father. He’s made bigger sacrifices than this trade. After all, he just killed a two-headed hydra. What’s one little marriage?

AND A LITTLE ATTRACTION…

Dariana Silvan is the daughter of a powerful arch-mage and descendant of royalty. She doesn’t want much, just a life where she can fit in and be loved for herself. What she doesn’t want is an arranged marriage with a handsome rake who puts a whole new spin on "charming". But she's enchanting…and some magic is stronger than others. (Or maybe: But she's enchanting and some magic is worth fighting for.)

...ALWAYS SPELL BIG TROUBLE

Enchanted Harmony

CERTAIN THINGS ARE EXPECTED OF HER...

Ambree Tantallon is a highborn elf maiden, brought up in an elite society, where she has been sheltered from the atrocities of the world.  She has never encountered people of other races, violence, nor the crusaders who battle the monsters of the world. She will live for a thousand years.

HE EXPECTS TO HAVE EXACTLY WHAT HE WANTS...

Farron Tain, who is half elf and half human, fights evil with magical music and sword.  His successes bring him riches and a brand of self-assuredness that crosses the line into arrogance.   Accustomed to his overwhelming charm paving the way for him, Farron never wastes a moment on self-doubt.

A CHANCE MEETING AND EXPECTATIONS MEAN NOTHING...
